Spotify follow to unlock
Short answer
Create a link with your download, add Follow artist, Like song or Follow playlist with your Spotify link, and share it. Listeners follow on Spotify, then get the file.
Why it works
A follow on Spotify puts your next release in Release Radar for that listener. Someone who wants your free download is about as interested as a fan gets, so that is the moment to ask.

What you can ask for on Spotify
- Follow artist: A follow on your artist profile: your releases reach them in Release Radar.
- Like song: A save of one track or album to their library, which helps that song in the algorithm.
- Follow playlist: A follow on your playlist, so it grows with every download.

Can people unfollow afterwards?
They can, like anywhere. In practice most stay: they followed for something they wanted, and your next post shows up for them.
